About Gene Trowbridge
Gene entered the real estate business in 1972 and earned the prestigious CCIM designation in 1977. He remains an active member of the CCIM faculty, achieving Senior Emeritus Instructor status after 40 years of teaching. In 2002, he was recognized as the Robert L. Ward Instructor of the Year, and in 2005, he received the Victor L. Lyon Distinguished Service Award for his outstanding contributions to the Institute’s education program.
As the founding partner of Trowbridge Nieh LLP, Gene’s law practice focuses on syndicated commercial real estate investments, encompassing both debt and equity. With a decade of experience as a syndicator, he’s raised investor capital for 16 different investment groups and maintained strong communication with his investor base. His practical experience enables him to effectively guide clients on the technical and practical aspects of state and federal securities laws. Collectively, Gene and his firm have written offerings that raised over $5 billion, with a median offering size of $2.5 million. They work with offerings under Rule 506(b) and 506(c) of Regulation D, Regulation CF, and Regulation A+.
Since 2008, Gene has mentored and trained law partners in syndication and crowdfunding. He has delivered over 250 live seminars on group ownership, exchanges, and taxation, and his articles have been published in various real estate media outlets. Gene’s expertise and insights make him a highly sought-after speaker on real estate group ownership.
Gene is also an accomplished author. His first book, “It’s A Whole New Business,” was published in 2005 and recently released its fourth edition in 2021. It provides valuable insights into the industry and is available on Amazon.
